Hi - guess what; all this week is World Breastfeeding Week. Its easy to remember as its always 1st-7th August. Each year has a theme and this year's is; "Breastfeeding: A key to Sustainable Development". Please go to the official site to find out more about the Goals:
Anyway; I'd been trying to think of a succinct way of expressing (really, no pun intended there!) how when the topic of breastfeeding is raised it prompts such emotion and judgement. This is often not a process for some to get beyond. Its as though they get stuck with their powerful feelings and attitudes, without getting to the point of realisation of what women are making with their own bodies. World-wide, the formula milk industry is reckoned to be worth approximately $50 billion or £30 billion. As my daughter Joanne said yesterday, "Judgement aside; making your own baby milk is pretty awesome really".
Now that's nice and awesomely succinct!
